Wolves are now set to be without Emmanuel Agbadou for at least a few weeks, with the defender heading off to AFCON.
At one stage Wolves looked like they’d be heavily affected by the tournament.
But in the end, only two players are departing in Agbadou and Tawanda Chirewa. Jackson Tchatchoua, Tolu Arokodare and Marshall Munetsi – who is injured – will not be leaving.
Emmanuel Agbadou had come back into Wolves’ starting XI recently, after having an awful start to the campaign.
The Ivory Coast international has been much improved, making his exit somewhat untimely.
Rob Edwards will now work out how best to cover Agbadou’s absence – and the player has sent a parting message as he joins up with the Ivory Coast.
Emmanuel Agbadou sends rallying cry to Wolves teammates

Wolves suffered another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday night, this time at the hands of Arsenal.
The Gunners snatched a victory right at the death, benefitting from a Yerson Mosquera own goal.
It was a hammer blow for Wolves, who had only equalised late on through Tolu Arokodare, and that would have resulted in a deserved point.
That defeat to Arsenal was Agbadou’s last game before AFCON, and the central defender took to Instagram last night to send a rallying cry to his teammates for the upcoming games.
He said: “Difficult moments don’t break us. They build us. Head up, we keep pushing together. Wishing my teammates the best of luck for the upcoming games.”
There have certainly been lots of difficult moments this season.
But the performance against Arsenal had plenty of positives, and some fans are optimistic that it can serve as a platform.

When Agbadou is in action for Ivory Coast
Agbadou’s focus will now turn to the tournament in Morocco, and is hoping to help the Ivory Coast retain their title.
Given the past eight editions of the tournament have produced a different winner seven times, that could be a challenge.
Tell us the Wolves defence you now want to see, with Agbadou leaving for AFCON!
Stick with a back three? A Krejci and Bueno partnership perhaps? Let us know in the comments 🤔
That said, Ivory Coast are the only nation to have lifted the trophy twice in the past 15 years.
Wolves fans wanting to watch Agbadou in the group stages can do so on December 24 (vs Mozambique), December 28 (vs Cameroon) and December 31 (vs Gabon).
