Emmanuel Agbadou explains how his Wolves teammates have helped him settle in at Molineux

Fosun rarely ever warrant credit from Wolves supporters but perhaps they will thank them for sanctioning the transfer of Emmanuel Agbadou.

Agbadou signed for £16.6 million from Reims in the January transfer window, becoming the first signing of the Vitor Pereira era.

As promised, the 27-year-old has made an incredible impact in defence, with Agbadou winning the Player of the Month award for January.

The Ivory Coast international has impressed with his physicality and ball-playing skills, two attributes that have looked right at home in the Premier League.

Pereira has also praised Agbadou for being a ‘big problem’ from set-pieces, highlighting his height and strength as difficult to stop. Meanwhile, the powerful centre-back has heaped praise on his Wolves teammates.

Wolves players have helped Emmanuel Agbadou settle in at Molineux

Some would have expected it to take a while for Agbadou to settle in at Molineux and flourish in the Premier League.

But thanks to his Wolves teammates, the transition has been seamless, with the former Reims defender explaining what they’ve done behind the scenes to help.

“My team-mates have helped me a lot,” Agbadou said via the E&S. “In every game we talk a lot on the pitch and off the pitch, they check on how I am and take care of me because they know it’s my first time in England.

Agbadou’s performances have been outstanding since joining in January, and the talented centre-back credits his teammates for that, claiming it would have been ‘impossible’ to perform at that level without them.

“They do everything for me to be good in my head and on the pitch also. Alone I cannot have this performance every game, it’s impossible,” he claimed.

Agbadou drops encouraging claim ahead of international break

The March international break has arrived, and several Wolves players have jetted off with their countries, including Agbadou who will play two World Cup Qualifiers against Burundi and Gambia.

Wolves fans will worry about players picking up problems during the international break, especially since Agbadou suffered a hamstring injury that interrupted his form.

But the Wanderers powerhouse has promised to be extra careful while on duty with his nation and will do his best to return in optimal condition.

“Now I think I’m at 100 per cent of my capacity,” he added. “In the national team we have two more games and I will try to be careful with my body.

“I will do my best to come back safe for my team-mates. I already had this injury before, so I know my body and know how long I need to recover well.

“I don’t worry about it and I was very calm about the situation. I know I’m strong, I recovered well and I was calm.”

Wolves need Agbadou and the rest of their crucial players fit for the run-in after the break, starting with a clash against West Ham.
