Emmanuel Agbadou has proven to be a remarkable bit of business by Wolves.
The Ivory Coast international is looking ahead of his first full season at Molineux, after joining midway through the 2024/25 campaign from Reims.
He hit the ground running straight away, and within weeks of being at the club, Agbadou was named Player of the Month at Wolves.
Wolves were all over the place at the back, but the backline improved considerably after Emmanuel Agbadou signed, with fans impressed by his physicality and authority.
Vitor Pereira turning things around at Molineux was always going to depend a lot on whether he could sort out the defensive issues, and Agbadou certainly played his part in helping to keep Wolves safe.
But the defender has been speaking about his teammates and is keen to talk up two players in particular.
Emmanuel Agbadou hails fellow Wolves defenders Toti Gomes and Matt Doherty

Agbadou probably came in for the most credit of all the Wolves defenders after Pereira’s arrival.
A string of solid displays from him has made people take note, and he is attributed with the overall improvement.
But undoubtedly, there were also major contributions from the two other players in Wolves’ backline: Toti Gomes and Matt Doherty.
Speaking to Wolves’ official website, Agbadou said: “And as a defence, I think we feel the same things. Toti is like a warrior and Doc is an experienced player, an older player, who plays very smart, and then me, I try to be a mix of the two of them. A battler on one side and experience on the other side.
“When you have this feeling between us, it makes everything easier.”

Agbadou one of Wolves’ most important signings in years
It’s nice to see Agbadou moving to credit Toti and Doherty, because they both had fantastic second halves of the 2024/25 season.
They complemented Agbadou superbly, and no doubt made his transition a lot smoother, which was vital given the struggles Wolves were having at the time.
Agbadou was such a great addition by Wolves, and he now stands to lead the defence.

Wolves fans reckon Agbadou could become the next captain if Nelson Semedo leaves, and that really would hammer home what a successful addition he has been.
To become captain after just six months of being at the club would just show what a top leader he is. Although perhaps Toti or Doherty also stand very good chances of taking the armband.
