Marcal’s injury has handed Rayan Ait-Nouri the chance to impress Wolves manager Bruno Lage.
The 20-year-old has taken the opportunity impressively, offering thrust going forward and pace in defence.
Former Wolves midfielder turned Sky Sports pundit David Edwards has certainly been impressed.
He wrote in his Express and Star column that Ait-Nouri was one of the few players who emerged from Saturday’s 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace with any credit.

“Rayan Ait-Nouri had a really good game at left wing-back,” wrote Edwards.
“He was really positive in everything he did, but it was hard, we were forced back to defend. It was there for the manager to make changes.
“For Ait-Nouri as a 20-year-old lad to come from another country and play regularly in the Premier League at the moment and perform like he has been is really impressive. I think he’s going to be a star.
“Wolves have really missed Jonny, but I’d stick with Ait-Nouri for now, he’s going to be a super talent. I really liked Ruben Vinagre but I think Rayan is going to be another level, I think he has more end product.”

Ait-Nouri has the ability to be a real asset for Wolves in the short and long term.
He is already capable of impressing at Premier League level and is only going to get better.
The defender has not needed a couple of games to get going after being thrust into the team.
He has taken over from Marcal expertly and we wrote a few days ago that he could keep Jonny out of the side even when he is back fit.
