Former Wolves midfielder David Edwards has been full of praise for Max Kilman’s display in the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Kilman helped Wolves keep a clean sheet up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.
In his Express and Star column, Edwards made mention of the fact Kilman did not shirk a physical challenge with the Portuguese superstar and that set the tone for the win.

“I also have to give massive praise to Max Kilman,” said Edwards.
“Right from the first minute when he put Cristiano Ronaldo on his backside, there’s not many players who would do that because of who Ronaldo is.
Max didn’t seem to care. He physically put him on the floor and he grew in strength – I don’t think he got beaten in a one-on-one situation all night.
“Another top performance on the biggest stage, which is amazing to see. The team is getting better and they will score more goals.”

As per WhoScored, nobody in old gold made more interceptions or blocks than Kilman on Monday night and only Conor Coady made more clearances.
His pass accuracy of 87.2 per cent was the highest of any member Bruno Lage’s starting XI and he also showed confidence to stride out from defence, completing a dribble.
Arguably, Kilman’s biggest asset is his temperament, given how calm he is regardless of the situation or opponent and that should stand him in good stead for 2022, when he will hope his star can continue to rise.
