Wolves take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Wednesday, and a very tough game lies in wait.
At the moment, Newcastle are one of the most in-form sides around, having won each of their last eight games across all competitions.
Eddie Howe’s side have renewed hope of finishing in the top four in the Premier League as a result of their upturn, and Wolves have their work cut out.
Vitor Pereira gave a positive injury update today, revealing Matheus Cunha, Nelson Semedo and Craig Dawson are all fit for the game.
Certainly, Cunha and Semedo’s returns are huge for Wolves and there’s a good chance both will come straight back into the starting XI.
Despite Newcastle’s fine form, Howe knows his side face a test, as he complimented Wolves and Pereira today.

Eddie Howe admits Wolves are now a confident team with a clear identity under Pereira

It’s so far, so good for Wolves with the appointment of Pereira.
The Portuguese has won three out of five games, and the team looks a lot more organised in general.
Under O’Neil, performances were chaotic a lot of the time, and the former manager never gave the impression he knew what his best team or system was.
For Howe, Wolves now have an identity and are playing with confidence.
Praising Wolves and Pereira earlier today at his press conference, he admitted: “Vitor Pereira has connected with the players very quickly, I think you can see that.
“They’re playing with a confidence, that shows with their form. They look a settled team and a clear identity. They will be very dangerous opponents, they have some very good players.”
Wolves’ record vs Newcastle
Having lost the last time out to Nottingham Forest, Wolves could do with getting back on track.
But this will be one very tough game at St. James’ Park, and if Wolves aren’t at the races they will get demolished.
But what is Wolves’ record against Newcastle? Over the years there has been a fairly even spread of results.

The teams have met 108 times, and Wolves have won 42 of those games. Newcastle have won 36 meetings, and there have been 30 draws.
