‘Doubters well and truly silenced’ – Wolves fans rejoice at news coming out of Molineux

Wolves fans have today been expressing their delight on social media, after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was named Player of the Month for February.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has really turned a corner at Molineux recently, having found starts hard to come by in the first-half of the campaign.

It all started when Vitor Pereira deployed Bellegarde in central midfield alongside Andre against Aston Villa.

Bellegarde shone that night in Wolves’ 2-0 win, grabbing the team’s first goal with a fantastic finish at the near post.

Bellegarde’s fine form continued, with lively displays against Liverpool (off the bench), Bournemouth and Fulham in the Premier League.

Many felt Bellegarde would have made a deserving Player of the Month winner – and that has now come to pass.

Cunha leaked Bellegarde as the latest Player of the Month winner earlier today and fans have been reacting to the Frenchman’s win on social media.

Bellegarde’s turnaround has been nice to see.

It has often felt as though he doesn’t really have a player in this team given the other options available.

Earlier this season Dave Edwards expressed his sympathy with Bellegarde having to play out wide a lot.

Although he can do that, it’s been clear to see recently that he is far more effective in a central role. Bellegarde himself has admitted he’s more comfortable centrally.

On social media, fans have reacted very positively to this news coming out of Molineux today.

The feeling is that Bellegarde really does deserve his award, with some piling on extra praise given he’s been criticised a lot during his time at Wolves.

@BellegardeSZN said: “Doubters well and truly silenced. Who would of guessed playing him in the right position would make him play well. Which I’ve been saying the whole time, but people just said I don’t know what I’m talking about and he’ll be bad know matter where he plays.”

@ruariwwfc added: “Some player he is.”

@Lanertron said: “Deserved. A positive. Good attitude and has put in some decent hardworking performances. Keep it up!”

@MrRyanLeister even felt Bellegarde is a new player these days: “After a miserable footballing weekend, a Wolves photo to make you smile. JRB a new player since the game v Villa and Agbadou a centre back we’ve badly missed in recent weeks. Up the Wolves!

@kevtheman10 said: “Fair play to Bellegarde being voted player of the month for February. It was obvious Wolves would get the best out of him with playing in his natural position on the pitch.”

Bellegarde must keep the momentum going

Bellegarde seems a popular winner based on the reaction on social media.

It’s been a tricky time for him at Molineux, but he has shown in recent weeks that he can fit into this team.

He was perhaps lacking confidence before, but in recent games, he’s looked like a player reborn under Pereira.

He has simply got to keep that momentum going now and keep riding the wave of confidence.

Not only does he need that himself, but Wolves need him on top form in their precarious position down at the bottom of the table.
