An old story has once gone viral claiming that the newly elected USA President Donald Trump once played for Wolves’ youth team.
In November 1991 Shoot magazine made an incredible claim. The report stated that Trump once played six games for Wolves’ youth side while his American Air Force father was based in the West Midlands.
On top of this, the President then went on to name a racehorse at his New York stable Molineux Mayde.
While the story has never been verified, it has once again gone viral on X, formerly Twitter, as many football fans are asking if it is indeed true.
Therefore, Molineux News has looked into the story to see if there is any potential truth to it.

Did Donald Trump play for Wolves’ youth side?

Within the story itself, there are plenty of holes which damage its validity.
First of all, it has been widely reported that Trump only owned one racehorse. Unfortunately, its name was not Molineux Mayde but instead DJ Trump.
On top of this, Trump’s father, Fred, was born in 1905. This means that by the time Donald would have been old enough to play in Wolves’ academy, his father would have been beyond the age of any military action.
While this technically doesn’t outright disprove that Trump played for Wolves’ youth side, it is clear that there are sections in the story which don’t add up.
One day the Molineux faithful may get their answer to this puzzling story, which has never been verified in a major news outlet since, but for now, fans will have to take the tale with a pinch of salt.
