A Premier League showdown takes centre stage at Molineux this weekend as Wolves host Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Last weekend was huge for Vitor Pereira’s side as Wolves clinched a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town to move them 12 points clear of the relegation zone.
Wolves aren’t mathematically safe from dropping into the Championship, though it would take an unbelievable turn of events to see the Wanderers collapse and Ipswich become invincible.
From staring down the barrel of relegation under Gary O’Neil, the Old Gold are now looking up the table rather than down and ahead of their clash with Tottenham this weekend, Pereira had some interesting news to deliver.

Wolves fans praise Vitor Pereira’s Matheus Cunha decision
On Sunday, Cunha will return from his four-match suspension. The 25-year-old was punished after losing his head in an FA Cup tie and lashing out at Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
The big question on the minds of supporters was whether Cunha would play against Spurs and in Friday’s pre-match press conference, Pereira supplied the answer.
Pereira said Cunha won’t start against Tottenham and he would field an unchanged side from the one that beat Ipswich, leaving supporters praising the Portuguese boss.
“Right call, great option of the bench and what sort of message would it send out to players that VP wants next season,” one fan wrote.
“Absolutely right choice,” another posted while a third said: “There’s the answer we were all waiting for.”

“I was hoping this would be the case, but didn’t expect it,” one supporter replied while a sixth commented: “Completely right decision from VP. Aside from his antics, he hasn’t played PL for a while. On the bench & have him come on 2nd half. Hopefully, he won’t be sulking & walking.”
A seventh wrote: “Absolutely the correct decision. With Cunha, Sarabia and (sadly) Semedo all expected to leave this summer, I think we’ll see more of Lima, R.Gomes and possibly even Mateus Mané before the end of the season.”
I agree! Dont change a winning team! Cunha is s great ace to have in the hole just in case!!!

Correct decision from Pereira
Cunha is Newcastle’s top target and the Brazilian has several clubs chasing him ahead of the summer transfer window.
Remarkably, even Cunha’s agent is discussing a transfer to Manchester United, who are confident they can win the race for him.
But, with his time at Molineux coming to an end and how well Wolves have coped in his absence, it’s ultimately the correct decision to leave him on the bench.
Pereira would have set a bad precedent to other members of the squad if he was to start Cunha, despite him just returning from a four match ban.
That is why the fans love the fact he isn’t afraid to publicly admit what he’s going to do, and in this case, they’re happy the Brazilian will remain on the bench.
