‘Destined’: Paul Merson says the world’s biggest teams will be queuing up for Wolves star

Paul Merson believes Wolves could lose Pedro Neto to another club as early as January if they are not careful.

The winger has been a breath of fresh air so far this season.

While the team has struggled as a collective, Neto has stood out pretty much every game.

The 23-year-old has started every game for Wolves in the Premier League so far, and has four assists and one goal to his name.

He has been coming in for praise left, right and centre for weeks.

The issue for Wolves is that, Neto is standing out further against how poor the team is performing as a collective.

People are looking at Wolves and noticing his contributions.

And Merson believes this could pose an issue to the club going forwards…

Paul Merson says Pedro Neto could draw transfer interest from other clubs

Neto is pretty much playing to the same kind of level he was a couple of years ago, before he suffered a broken patella.

At that time, Neto was one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League.

At the moment, he looks a constant threat.

And Merson reckons the Portuguese could be a wanted man soon.

He said (Sportskeeda): “Pedro Neto is starting to produce the end product that once eluded him. Some of the biggest teams in world football are going to be queuing up for him next year. If he keeps playing like this, he might even get a few offers to leave Wolves in January – he’s destined for big things.”

Merson’s former club Arsenal have been linked with Neto a few times in the last couple of years.

Dave Edwards also suggested earlier this week that Neto’s form could ultimately become a transfer problem for Wolves.

Neto is bound to attract attention

It is inevitable that teams will show interest in Neto if things carry on as they are.

He is playing brilliantly right now, and if Wolves are in and around the bottom then teams may seen this as in invitation to come and swoop.

Wolves fans would like to hope that Neto wouldn’t leave mid-season. He is simply too important.

Quite possibly though, if he sustains this level through to the end of the campaign, then you would think some top teams will come calling.
