Things are looking bleak for Wolves’ Premier League status following a fourteenth successive game without a win this season, but Dean Saunders believes they should not give up.
The situation as it stands has Rob Edwards’ side 12 points from safety, and as each week passes without a win, they further fall adrift from the rest of the pack.
Wolves fans are already giving up hope of survival, as the results and performances to date have shown little fight.
However, not everyone is giving up yet, as former Wolves manager Dean Saunders thinks there should still be hope at Molineux.
Dean Saunders believes Wolves can still survive relegation

Dean Saunders may be one of the very few people left who believe Wolves have a chance.
They have not won a Premier League game since April 2025, and truthfully, the prospects of that changing do not look likely.
Rob Edwards blasted his players for being ‘scared’ against Nottingham Forest, and that question has summed up Wolves all season.
There has been a lack of creativity, a lack of ideas, and little for fans to cling onto positively this campaign.
Edwards told Mateus Mane to take more risks, and the Wolves boss should tell the rest of his squad the same.
Things need to change quickly, and Dean Saunders believes if they do, surviving relegation is still possible.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Saunders said, “Wolves fans are going to be thinking, ‘I can’t see where the next win is going to come from,’ but it can happen. My experience when I was at Bradford: three games left, and we didn’t look like we could win a game, and we won our last three games.
“We beat Liverpool in the last game 1-0 and stayed up. Three on the bounce, nine points. And all of a sudden, your league position changes. If they can win three games now, from nowhere, one win will get them a bit of momentum, so don’t give up yet; they are not dead and buried yet.”
How many points will Wolves end up on this season?
While the optimistic outlook might be appreciated, there is little substance to back up any chance of one Wolves win at the moment, never mind three in a row.
And even if they can manage nine points out of nine, the club’s position may not even change.

Three wins in a row could still have Wolves in last place
Wolves are so far behind the rest of their relegation candidates that three wins in a row could still see them in last place.
After defeat to Nottingham Forest, the Old Gold are eight points behind 19th-placed Burnley, and if the Clarets can pick up even just one point in that same run of games, they could still be above the Molineux side on goal difference.
It pinpoints just how bad things are at the club, that even with three successive wins, they would still be rock bottom.
STAT: Wolves have now registered the worst ever start to a Premier League season, equalling Sheffield United’s record (2020/21) after 14 games ⚠️
However, that would provide some hope, and there may then be a pathway out of the bottom three.
But the upcoming fixtures certainly do not help.

Wolves’ next three games include both Manchester United and Arsenal, and any wins in those games would be a shock.
Let’s hope the Wanderers can produce a miracle and perhaps give some early festive cheer to supporters. They have endured enough disappointment this season.
