David Moller Wolfe has just said something about Vitor Pereira’s final months at Wolves that truly shows that he was doomed to fail this season.
Pereira aside, many believe that the summer transfer window has been the biggest culprit in Wolves’ struggles this season, and while that is likely correct, the former head coach was not blameless.
The 57-year-old had a big say in the players that were signed, and his policy on the types of players that should come to Wolves was a net negative.
However, there were more issues in the final few months of his time, and Moller Wolfe has now shed light on one.
Lopetegui vs O’Neil vs Pereira… who had the best reign at Wolves?👑
David Moller Wolfe questions Vitor Pereira’s training at Wolves
Vitor Pereira’s tenure looked to be coming to an end for quite some time before it did.
The Old Gold rarely looked like they could win a game, and the Portuguese was constantly tinkering with his side to find any sort of spark.
It showed that he was running out of ideas, but David Moller Wolfe has now suggested there was another problem.
And that is how Wolves prepared throughout the week for each game.
Wolfe said (via Sky Sports), “Training since the first day of the season has not been good enough, but now we have been stepping it up since Rob has come in. I think that will show in the results in the games coming up.”

The claim will come as no surprise, as Wolves have looked well off the pace so far this season.
But with the appointment of Rob Edwards, there has been an improvement, even if the results are not currently showing it.
And the Norwegian has been one of the bigger beneficiaries of his arrival, with that likely continuing against Manchester United on Monday.
Wolves did the double over Manchester United last season! Hwang, Cunha, and Sarabia scored across the games, but only one is still at Wolves.
David Moller Wolfe has chance to cement himself as Wolves’ first-choice left wing-back
Under Vitor Pereira, it seemed like David Moller Wolfe could never make his way into his plans. Even after popping up with two goals against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, the former head coach still refused to play him.
Following that match, Moller Wolfe was an unused substitute against Fulham, a 3-0 loss which in turn was the final match for Pereira at Wolves.
However, under Rob Edwards, the Norwegian has started all three matches ahead of Hugo Bueno, and with the Spaniard an injury doubt, that could rise to four consecutive starts against Man United.
Moller Wolfe could have a key battle against the Red Devils, and he will need to perform.
With the defender now believing the training standards are where they should be, hopefully we will start seeing him at his very best as soon as Monday.
