David Moller Wolfe sends message to Wolves fans after brace vs Chelsea

David Moller Wolfe has arrived as a Wolves player, after he scored a brace against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Wolves lost the game 4-3 at Molineux, but despite another defeat there was a relatively warm reaction after the full-time whistle this time.

Fans had seen the Wolves players showing fight, and Vitor Pereira was keen to direct the focus onto the second-half showing.

Pereira did accept responsibility for the first-half mistakes against Chelsea, but was buoyed by the response to going 3-0 down.

And it was a very good night on a personal note for David Moller Wolfe.

Moller Wolfe has struggled for regular minutes since signing for the club from AZ Alkmaar, but took his chance last night with both hands.

The Norway international was a great outlet on the left side, and put in a few great balls. He was tireless in terms of his running and then of course, he helped himself to two goals.

Today, Moller Wolfe took to Instagram to check in with fans after his brace.

Moller Wolfe has found himself stuck behind Hugo Bueno for the most part this season.

The Spaniard has responded very well to the arrival of a positional rival, and Moller Wolfe has really not had much of a look in so far.

But that could be about to change now, with Moller Wolfe excelling against Chelsea.

Not only was he good offensively, but Moller Wolfe was relatively solid in terms of his defending.

Estevao was playing on his side, and he was kept largely in check. The Brazilian had just 31 touches of the ball while he was on the pitch – only Tyrique George had fewer out of all Chelsea’s starters.

Estevao did score, but that came via a mistake by Fer Lopez in the middle – not helped by Jose Sa – with Moller Wolfe nowhere near.

Today, Moller Wolfe took to Instagram to send a message to fans on Instagram.

He wrote: “Proud of the character we showed yesterday & to score my first goals for Wolves. Gutted with the result, but we’ll keep fighting to turn things around. Full focus on Saturday now 🐺🧡”

Moller Wolfe must build on Chelsea display

It was great to see Moller Wolfe returning to the side and putting in a strong performance.

It has been an underwhelming start for him, so hopefully this can now be the turning point.

Moller Wolfe has said he is pretty much fully settled in now at Wolves, so that is good news and will hopefully mean we see him really push on.

He can clearly be a threat, and with Wolves crying out for goals and creativity, he could now see more involvement.
