Wolves fans are looking forward to a potentially easier run of fixtures now, and Dave Edwards has suggested one player should be getting more minutes.
Wolves have taken just two points from their first nine games and are yet to win.
But there have been positives signs up to now amid the tough run, and it is clear to see that the payers are still behind Gary O’Neil.
Wolves did superbly well on Saturday to come from behind and rescue a point against Brighton.
Hopefully, that result is going to serve as the catalyst now for Wolves, and fans are certainly expectant – with Crystal Palace, Southampton, Fulham and Bournemouth to come in the next four.
O’Neil’s teamsheet against Palace will be very interesting this weekend, and former midfielder Dave Edwards has suggested one star ought to be getting more minutes.
Edwards suggests Pablo Sarabia and Tommy Doyle need to feature more for Wolves

Against Brighton, Pablo Sarabia started his first game of the season in the Premier League.
Edwards believes it has been ‘crazy’ to see how little the former Paris Saint-Germain star has played so far. He said in his latest E&S column: “Pablo Sarabia was excellent when he came on. He hasn’t played since the Chelsea game, which is crazy when you think about it.
“He’s had to wait patiently, but he took his chance really well.
“I like him because he takes on difficult passes. He looks for that killer pass.
Andy Thompson praised Sarabia for the quality he brought and initiative he showed, and plenty of fans on social media also recognised his contributions.
Up to now, Sarabia has made just five appearances for Wolves across all competitions.
He has played just 198 minutes across all competitions so far – only Pedro Lima and Boubacar Traore, who has a knee injury – have played fewer minutes out of all current first-team players.
Wolves more creative with Sarabia
Sarabia is a solid technician. He isn’t that mobile, but the Spaniard is perhaps Wolves’ best creator and it’s criminal how little he’s featured this season up to now.
It has been clear that O’Neil has favoured more dynamic and fast players during his time at the club.
Pablo Sarabia last season for Wolves |
Appearances (Starts) – 36 (25) |
Goals – 4 |
Assists – 10 |
Shot-creating actions per 90 – 4.49 |
But the £90,000-a-week Sarabia clearly still has so much to offer.
Yes, he has the ability to frustrate with the way he can slow play down. He can also come off as a bit languid.
But there is no denying how creative he is, and the likes of Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen could really benefit if Sarabia is called upon more.
