Former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards believes Diego Costa looked the sharpest he’s ever been against Brentford.
Costa has been the talk of the town the last few days, following his fine performance against the Bees which yielded his first goal for the club.

Costa struck in the first-half, converting a Toti Gomes cross from the left side.
The veteran led the line brilliantly, and showed some wonderful link-up play with Matheus Cunha in particular.
Costa’s contributions were lapped up by the Molineux faithful, as he was replaced by Joao Moutinho with around 20 minutes to go.
The 34-year-old will hopefully be OK after he had to strap his knee up for the second-half. He has been assessed ahead of this weekend’s game with Leicester City.
Against Brentford it was without doubt his best display so far in a Wolves shirt.
In the eyes of Edwards, Costa looked the sharpest he has ever been since coming to Molineux.

He said in his latest Express & Star column: “I’m delighted the veteran striker got his goal. He did so much hard work and I felt he looked sharper than ever in a Wolves shirt.
“The former Chelsea frontman used his physicality really well and held it up expertly. He got a bit lucky with the goal and how it bounced back to him but he played a big part in the goal.”
There is now some talk about Costa’s future, with many feeling he should be considered for a contract extension.
Julen Lopetegui lavished praise on him after the game, and it would be no surprise if he mentioned that possibility to the board already.
Diego Costa did indeed look the sharpest he’s been against Brentford
Most Wolves fans will agree with Edwards here.
Costa definitely looked bang at it against Brentford. He was always showing for the ball and used it very intelligently.
He also showed good running power, both on his goal and in the second-half when Matheus Nunes slipped him in for a chance that David Raya saved.

It was always going to take time for Costa to get to this point.
When Wolves signed him, he had not played a game for months.
Thankfully, the star is now at a level where he is a genuine handful for opposition defenders again.
