Dave Edwards believes Wolves have hired a manager with ‘world-class qualities’ in Julen Lopetegui.
The club finally named the Spaniard as Bruno Lage’s successor at the weekend.

The 56-year-old is expected at the club later this week, but will officially start work on Monday.
Some of his backroom staff are to come in in the coming days.
Lopetegui has supposedly already been taking steps to prepare himself ahead of his official start date, binge-watching previous Wolves games and training sessions.
Fans are very excited by the appointment, and Edwards shares those feelings.
The former Wolves midfielder said (Express & Star): “It’s taken a wobble, but that might be a bit of a blessing in disguise. I know it’s a tough position joint-bottom but it’s created an opportunity now for a manager with world-class qualities to come in.
“Every Wolves fan should be excited; he’s managed at the absolute top level and you don’t do that by chance continually.

“I believe we’re really lucky he sees Wolves as a project he wants to get his teeth stuck into.”
There is a reasonable chance Wolves will be in the bottom three when the season suspends for the World Cup.
Wanderers need to get three points against current Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday night to move out of the relegation zone.
Before that though, it’s Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.
Lopetegui will no doubt be watching these games very closely, as he gets a feel for his new players from afar.
Julen Lopetegui appointment gives Wolves hope, a Dave Edwards hails club’s appointment
On paper it really is a great appointment.
Lopetegui has genuine pedigree, and worked wonders in his last job at Sevilla, consistently finishing in the top four and of course winning the Europa League in 2020.

Wolves are currently in a very worrying predicament though.
He has a lot to sort out when he comes in.
But it was perhaps the best appointment the club could possibly have made in the circumstances.
