It has been a poor start to the new season for Wolves and many fans are very concerned to say the least.
Wolves have opened with three straight defeats in the Premier League to suggest that this will be a long, hard season.
Supporters were hoping that there would be a positive end to the transfer window. But in the end, only Tolu Arokodare came in, and that was a signing that had been on the cards for days.
Wolves didn’t sign a new midfielder, and the general feeling is that Pereira has been left short.
The manager must now put his faith in the players he’s got, and try to work his magic.
And for Dave Edwards, there are currently three players who are ‘guaranteed’ to start for Wanderers.
Wolves have just three ‘guaranteed’ starters at the moment

There has been plenty of talk about what Wolves’ best XI will be going forward.
With six new faces arriving, it may take a bit of time for Pereira to establish his best team, but ideally he’ll get a strong idea as soon as possible.
Fans have been sharing their best Wolves teams on social media and there are a few common denominators.
For Dave Edwards, there are actually just three players right now who are sure to start games under Pereira.
He said on The Official Wolves Podcast: “We’re a far cry from that (having so many guaranteed starters like last season). I think you can probably only say two or three players at the moment are guaranteed a start.
“Jose Sa, Joao Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen. Everyone else, I think those positions are up for grabs.
“You do want a settled team, you do want those relationships on the pitch. But from a players’ point of view as well, you do get a little bit anxious and you hope you take the opportunity that you’re presented with.
“On the flip side, you can go into a game thinking ‘I’ve got 90 minutes to prove myself or else I’m back out next week’. Whereas when you’re in a team that is predictable and you’re getting results and you’re playing, you know you can have a couple of bad games and it’s not going to affect your place in the team.
“At the moment, it’s an absolute free-for-all.”
Edwards would likely have also said Andre before Pereira dropped him against Bournemouth.
Although it could have just been a one-off, that decision by the manager shows the Brazilian’s place in the side isn’t currently guaranteed.
Wolves need their guaranteed starters to deliver

Given the uncertainty over various positions in the starting XI right now, Wolves need consistency from those guaranteed starters.
Jose Sa has been the clear choice in Pereira’s mind since the manager came in, and ideally he will show the form he did in his very first season at Wolves.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
15 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 3 | 5 | -2 | 3 | |
16 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 4 | 8 | -4 | 3 | |
17 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 3 | -1 | 2 | |
18 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 4 | -2 | 2 | |
19 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 4 | -4 | 1 | |
20 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 2 | 8 | -6 | 0 |
Joao Gomes is definitely undroppable for Wolves. He will be absolutely essential this season once again, and fans know they’ll get 100% from him every single game even when things are going horribly.
And Jorgen Strand Larsen is indeed also likely to start every game he is fit for.
It was so huge for Wolves to have kept Strand Larsen amid late interest from Newcastle United, and hopefully the Norwegian will have a similarly productive season to what he enjoyed last term.
