Dave Edwards was left particularly impressed by one part of Wolves’ pre-season tour of the United States.
Wolves have one pre-season friendly remaining before the 2024/25 campaign kicks off against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Gary O’Neil’s side has a particularly difficult start to the Premier League season however, the squad’s performances this summer have boosted belief.
Out of the five non-competitive games Wolves have featured in during pre-season, O’Neil’s squad has secured four wins, with one fixture standing out as a highlight.

Dave Edwards blown away by Wolves pre-season performance against RB Leipzig
The tour of the United States was particularly encouraging for the Old Gold, as Wolves came up against some high-calibre opponents.
O’Neil recorded a win over former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui as his squad beat West Ham 3-1, with the other win coming against Champions League side RB Leipzig.
Taking to his Express and Star column, former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards took the time to applaud the squad’s performance against the Bundesliga outfit.
“The RB Leipzig game was incredible. Wolves played at a tempo which is nothing like pre-season, they were playing through crazy weather conditions.”
Wolves emerged as 3-0 winners against Marco Rose’s side, showing no signs of being outclassed.
Edwards highlighted the squad’s chemistry as being a huge plus against Leipzig, something that will have fans excited for the new season to commence.
“As a team, they looked so well drilled. The relationships between each other were excellent.
“The synergy on the pitch was fantastic. The way they played it was as though they had played with each other for 10 years.”
Wolves fans will have great belief ahead of Premier League challenges
Starting the season with a trip to the Emirates is far from what Wolves would have hoped for however, the Old Gold have shown that there is no need to fear any club under O’Neil.
The performance against Leipzig only reinforced such mentality, as it was difficult to identify which side was the Champions League club over 90 minutes.
Most importantly, it’s refreshing to see how O’Neil has boosted the morale at Molineux, particularly when considering where the squad was at this time last year.
From energising top-class displays to a squad that embraces all levels of talent and experience, it’s a positive time to be associated with Wolves, with lots in store over the 2024/25 campaign.
