Wolves supporters can be immensely proud of what their current team is achieving under the guidance of Vitor Pereira.
Wolves are the most in-form team in Europe following six straight Premier League wins as Vitor Pereira’s men secured a 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.
Pereira can take enormous credit for this unbelievable turnaround, as Wolves occupied a relegation place when Gary O’Neil was sacked in December.
During their meteoric rise up the Premier League table, some stars have played their best football since joining the club.
Marshall Munetsi praised Jorgen Strand Larsen after he notched his 13th goal at the weekend, while Andre is one of the best in his position. But while the fans get to watch some wonderful players, Dave Edwards has made a bold claim about one former star.

Dave Edwards names Conor Coady as Wolves ‘most important’ player since Steve Bull
Steve Bull is arguably Wolves’ biggest ever legend. The clinical centre-forward plundered 306 goals and 18 hat-tricks across an incredible 13 years at Molineux.
Bull stands as one of the most crucial talents in the club’s history, yet Edwards believes Conor Coady is Wolves ‘most important’ player since the former hung up his boots in 2001.
Speaking after Coady returned to Molineux for Leicester’s 3-0 defeat on Saturday, Edwards said via the E&S: “I wanted him to get the welcome and reception that he deserved. While he is now an opposition player, I really do think he has played a huge part in helping Wolves to get where they are as a football club.
“I have said it before I believe he is the most important player to wear the shirt since Steve Bull – he has been that important.
“The way he brought the club together and went out into the community, Coady represented everything a fan would want to see from their captain. I would like to see him back at Wolves in some capacity someday.”
Wolves fans serenaded Coady by directing chants towards their former captain, and the 31-year-old also thanked the supporters for the reception they gave him.
Since departing the club for Leicester in 2023, Coady has maintained a solid relationship with the Wolves fans, becoming someone who will always receive a good reception.
What Coady achieved at Wolves was phenomenal
It could be a stretch for Edwards to compare the ‘amazing’ Coady to Bull, but the talented defender did help inspire his side through the divisions.
Coady was part of the squad that earned promotion from League One in 2014, and then returned to the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo in 2018.
He followed a similar trajectory to Bull, who joined the club when they were rock bottom, and then helped establish Wolves as a second-tier side.
Remarkably, the Leicester ace captained the Wanderers into Europe on successive occasions, starring at the heart of the back three.
Wolves tried to sign Coady in January, proposing a swap deal involving Craig Dawson, although his performances have declined since leaving Molineux, and he wouldn’t have got into their defence ahead of Matt Doherty, Emmanuel Agbadou and Toti Gomes.
