Wolves fans are desperate for a turnaround after zero wins in 10 Premier League games so far.
Supporters knew it would be a very tough start to 2024/25 given the fixtures.
But there is now real concern at Molineux, with many at least questioning whether Gary O’Neil is the right man to turn things around and take the club forward. Many have already turned on him.
Gary Lineker believes Wolves will stay up this season, and several other pundits also don’t feel Wolves will be in trouble come the end of the season.
One man who believes Wolves are in a bit of a false position at the moment is the former Premier League striker Darren Bent.
Yesterday on talkSPORT, Wolves and O’Neil came up in conversation, as the pair discussed the struggles of Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United.
Bent says Wolves play lovely football as Goldstein says O’Neil is ‘better than they are’

Wolves are perhaps slightly unlucky to still be winless after 10 games.
Certainly, they have played well at times. But Wolves just cannot seem to play well for full games, and there also seems to be a psychological issue at large.
Wolves have squandered leads and defended really poorly, which is why it’s just three points taken from 10 games so far.
On talkSPORT yesterday, Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein were discussing the current struggles that Julen Lopetegui is having at West Ham.
Former Wolves boss Lopetegui has taken just 11 points so far, and some Irons fans are not happy with what they’ve been seeing.
Goldstein proposed a list of names who could go in and replace Lopetegui, suggesting O’Neil who could do the job.
He said (05/11, 4:13pm): “Gary O’Neil, he’s not getting any love at Wolves. He’s better than they are, if that makes sense. I know he’s in charge of their fortune but…”
Bent then delivered his verdict. He said: “Do you know what? I would have said that maybe at the start of the season. I feel for Wolves. I look at the way Wolves have played and they shouldn’t be where they are.
“They’ve had moments in every single game where I go ‘They play some lovely stuff’.
O’Neil may struggle for another PL job if Wolves sack him
It is unclear whether Goldstein meant O’Neil is actually ‘better’ than Wolves, or better than Wolves’ current position in the league table.
If Fosun do decide to sack O’Neil soon, then it is perhaps unlikely that his next job would be at a Premier League club.

Wolves officials are said to fear O’Neil succeeding elsewhere. But realistically his managerial record in the Premier League might make it difficult for him to get another top-flight gig.
So far, he has managed 82 Premier League games across spells with Bournemouth and Wolves. He has won just 23 of those, drawing 16 and losing 43. His teams have scored 99 goals, and conceded 147.
