Danny Murphy warns Wolves that a big new concern awaits them in the Premier League

Wolves crashed to a fifth straight defeat against Leeds United in the Premier League, and Danny Murphy has made a worrying claim ahead of this weekend’s game with Tottenham Hotspur.

After taking the lead at Molineux through Ladislav Krejci, Wolves theN shipped three goals before half-time.

It was a terrible defensive performance from Wolves, and the manner of the defeat was deeply concerning.

Wolves have a chance to get back on track with the game against Everton in the Carabao Cup.

It would be ideal if Wolves could beat the Toffees to gain a bit of confidence going into the next Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Because what pundit Danny Murphy said about Spurs is concerning.

It has been a torrid start for Wolves in the Premier League.

Pereira’s side are the worst in the division at the moment, and confidence is very low.

Worryingly, there was also some poor body language on show against Leeds, and Wolves have to start showing some fight if they are to get out of this rut.

But the games don’t come any easier.

After Everton in the cup, it’s Tottenham on Saturday night – and Murphy has already warned Wolves ahead of the game.

He watched Spurs against Brighton last Saturday, and said (via talkSPORT): “The Premier League is ruthless.

“If they lose another two or three on the spin, all of a sudden they’re climbing Everest. The pressure builds.

“And by the way, Tottenham next is not a good game to have. I did their game at Brighton, they were good. They looked strong, fit, confident, organised. I know they lost that game to Bournemouth, but other than that they’ve had a terrific start. They made Brighton look average.”

Murphy went on to say he fears for Wolves this season.

Wolves have to beat Everton going into Tottenham game

In an ideal world, Wolves will get a result against Everton tonight in the Carabao Cup.

That will not be easy, because Everton have started the new season quite well and have some really dangerous players and of course, the Toffees only beat Wolves a few weeks ago in the league.

But a win for Wolves tonight would do wonders for the confidence of the squad.

Going out of the cup tonight will only make that game with Spurs at the weekend even more difficult.

Although they’ve only taken one point in their last two league games, they’ve started very brightly under Thomas Frank so a big test lies in store.
