Yesterday marked the 35th birthday of Joao Moutinho.
The midfielder has officially entered into his mid-thirties now, and remains a key player for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He is no longer at his peak, and last term was a bit of a struggle for him.
But Moutinho remains a hugely popular figure at Molineux.
Many feel as though he’s one of the best players to ever wear the shirt.
He’s certainly proven to be remarkable valuable money.
He transferred to the club from AS Monaco back in 2018 for a measly £5 million (BBC Sport).
Moutinho has gone on to make 141 appearances since then, a truly amazing return considering he signed at the age of 31.
It will undoubtedly be a tough thing watching him leave, whenever that time comes.
Given his age now, it would be no surprise if his departure came at the end of the current season when his contract expires
So it is important for Wolves fans to enjoy him while he lasts.
Yesterday the club marked the occasion by posting a video clip of Moutinho’s stunning goal against Arsenal last season – his first at Molineux.
It was an absolutely beautiful hit worthy of winning any game.
Yesterday was also Moutinho’s Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes’ birthday. The Manchester United man turned 27.
The occasion saw Wolves winger and fellow Portugal international Daniel Podence poke fun at the pair and send a cheeky joint message on Instagram Stories.
He wrote: “Duas lendas do nosso futebol! Feliz Aniversario a cada um de vos seus chatos. Saude e Felicidade.”
That roughly translates to ‘Two legends of our football! Happy Birthday to each of you your boring ones. Health and happiness’.
