Daniel Podence gives club preference
The Portuguese international was highly important to Wolves last season. The winger finished as the club’s top scorer as they managed to fight off relegation.
However, he soon fell out of favour at the club and was shipped out on loan to Greek side Olympiacos when O’Neil arrived. Here, he has been fairly successful and netted a fantastic goal on the weekend.
Podence may now have indicated that he wants to stay in Greece, despite the fact that Olympiacos have not made a decision to buy him yet.

Paul Merson highlights Wolves issue

Wolves return to Molineux on Sunday hoping to revive their form in Wolverhampton. Three points are expected for O’Neil’s side as they face Sheffield United who resides bottom of the Premier League.
However, since promotion, Wolves have gotten into a bad habit of failing to beat the struggling sides. This has happened on multiple occasions and Wolves even gave Sunday’s opponents their first league win of the season back in November.
Merson highlights this in his prediction as a big problem Wolves need to overcome if they are to push onwards and upwards.

Wolves injury update

Despite Wolves not having many injuries this season, they have seen some crucial players missing at points this campaign.
Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri both picked up injuries in 2023. However, now it is Matheus Cunha who has fallen victim to a hamstring issue.
In preparation for the game, O’Neil was able to provide an update on how the attacker was doing on his road to recovery.
