Wolves beat Burnley on Tuesday night at Molineux to return to winning ways in the Premier League – and Dan Bentley hailed one Clarets player after the match.
Following defeats to Fulham and Arsenal last week, it was important for Wanderers to respond.
It was not pretty but Wolves got the job done, with Hwang Hee-chan scoring the game’s only goal.
That was Hwang’s eighth Premier League goal of the season, with only Erling Haaland, Mo Salah and Heung-min Son scoring more up to this point.
Before Hwang scored, Dan Bentley made a terrific double save for Wolves, with one of the shots coming in from Josh Brownhill, who is a player the Molineux number two really rates…
Dan Bentley is a big fan of Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill

Bentley’s contribution to last night’s victory was huge – had he not denied Jay Rodriguez and then Brownhill, Wolves may never have taken the lead through Hwang.
The 30-year-old was playing last night after Jose Sa failed to recover in time after going off injured at the weekend against Arsenal.
He gave a great account of himself, but after the game, he moved to praise Burnley midfielder Brownhill, saying: “But Josh is a quality player and I’m fully aware he’s capable of strikes from in and around the box, and even outside the box, with the quality he possesses.”
Brownhill – who Bentley says gave him ‘choice words’ afterr his save – is actually a player who has been linked with a move to Wolves several times in the last year.
It was claimed an approach was actually made for him in the summer, and journalist Dean Jones also reported that Gary O’Neil is a big fan of the player and actually wanted to sign him while he was at Bournemouth.
Brownhill looks a tidy player
Brownhill was arguably Burnley’s best player against Wolves. According to Sofascore, he made four interceptions which was the most of any player in the match.
He also used the ball fairly well, completing 43/52 passes (83% accuracy), and he won 5/6 duels.
Bentley would know all about how good the £40,000-a-week ace is, because the pair previously played at Bristol City together.
Once just wonders if he might be worth keeping an eye out for, given how Wolves have been linked with him a few times in the last year or so.
There was talk of him extending his contract at Burnley but that hasn’t happened yet and his current deal expires at the end of the season. So perhaps Wolves could snag themselves a midfield bargain in January, or a freebie next summer.
