Crystal Palace handed double injury blow ahead of Wolves clash – Vitor Pereira’s plan may have just changed

Crystal Palace will be a tough test for Wolves, but they could be without two of their best players on Tuesday evening.

Following their FA Cup triumph, many are predicting the Eagles to beat Wolves at Selhurst Park.

Wolves’ shaky away record suggests those predictions could be right, but there may be a few factors that actually swing the momentum in the Molineux outfit’s favour.

Having won their first-ever major trophy, Palace may be suffering from a Wembley hangover when Wolves visit south London.

Mix that with a number of fresh injuries for the Eagles, Vitor Pereira’s Selhurst plan may need to be altered prior to kick-off on Tuesday.

Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton to miss Wolves clash

Pereira has praised Oliver Glasner during his pre-match press conference, highlighting the difficulties his Palace side can create.

The Eagles boss himself has been speaking in the press during the lead up to the game and has since revealed that he will be without two of his key players in Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton.

The pair, both picked up injuries during the FA Cup final, and are now both set to miss the Selhurst clash on Tuesday evening, with Wharton now out for the remainder of the season.

Given that both players are an integral part of Palace’s system, Pereira’s pre-match team talk may have just been changed.

How will Crystal Palace line up against Wolves?

Guehi and Wharton would have no doubt both started against Wolves, but with the pair now on the treatment table, it begs the question as to how Palace will line up on the night.

Jefferson Lerma replaced Guehi on the weekend, and it would be no surprise to see the Colombian slot in the backline again.

In terms of midfield, we will likely see Will Hughes enter the fray, having replaced the injured Wharton late on at Wembley.

Given his side’s potential party hangover, Glasner may be tempted to make further changes on Tuesday evening – something Pereira will have to be ready for.
