Wolves captain Conor Coady has showered praise on Rayan Ait-Nouri, after the teenager made a fantastic debut against Crystal Palace.

The French youngster got the nod from Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of Romain Saiss on Friday night, and grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

The starlet was able to grab a goal, and was an excellent outlet for the likes of Coady and Ruben Neves.

Wolves supporters were hugely excited by Ait-Nouri’s promising performance, with the talented player really suiting the role of left wing-back.

He’s been receciving plaudits over the weekend, and now Coady has given his take on the summer loan signing from Angers.

He told the club’s official website: “He’s really sharp. He turns you inside out. He’s got bags of tricks. It’s important we try and help him settle in as much as possible.

“He’s a young boy coming from a different country. He’s a fantastic person, he’s brilliant to have around the place, and it’s up to us as teammates and friends to make him settle as quickly as possible and hopefully we’ll keep on going.”

Ait-Nouri will be hopeful of keeping his place in the side against Leicester City on Sunday – one has to feel there’s a pretty good chance of that the way he played on Friday night.

Ait-Nouri needs carefully nurturing

After Ait-Nouri’s really promising first showing, it’s important now for him to be managed carefully.

Clearly he is extremely talented, but there will obviously be tough moments for the youngster.

It is important for him not to be placed under pressure and for the pack to help him at all times.

There’s real potential here for Ait-Nouri to become a top player for Wolves, and with the right support that can happen sooner rather than later.
