‘Compliment’: PL striker now reacts after being told Wolves want to sign him

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has reacted after being told that Wolverhampton Wanderers are linked to sign him.

The 33-year-old has been at the Hammers since 2015 after joining from Nottingham Forest for a reported £7 million.

During his eight-year stint at the club, the Jamaican international has scored 61 times in 228 appearances, becoming the Hammers’ all-time leading Premier League goalscorer.

Bulldozing No 9 Antonio has previously been linked with a move to Wolves, with rumours flying around in January, but the striker decided to stay and fight for his place at the London Stadium.

With just 12 months left on his current deal, David Moyes’ side may want to cash in on Antonio to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Antonio features on a podcast alongside fellow Premier League striker Callum Wilson.

Speaking with the Newcastle United forward on the BBC’s Footballer’s Football Podcast, the 33-year-old admitted that he’s not close to leaving the Europa Conference League winners just yet.

“I’m being linked and there are talks of me leaving but right now there is nothing solid or concrete so all I can do is keep working hard, keep playing for the team I’m definitely currently employed by and whatever happens, happens.

“You have to take it as a compliment, you being linked with so many clubs. It shows I’m doing something right. Keep them coming!

“Even if I did leave I would still be on the pod anyway, you can’t get rid of me!”
