Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder praised Ryan Giles, after the Wolves youngster made three assists in their pre-season match against Morecambe.
The Championship outfit faced the League One side last night in their penultimate pre-season fixture.
It was a comfortable evening’s work for Boro, who won 3-0.
All the goals came in the first-half, with Giles responsible for setting up all of them.
The 22-year-old started at left wing-back, and put in a string of dangerous crosses that Morecambe just couldn’t handle.

Giles’ crossing ability has always been one of his best attributes.
Last season he got nine assists for Cardiff City before Wolves recalled him in January.
Wolves’ technical director Scott Sellars has previously branded him one of the best younger crossers in the country.

Boro supporters were last night going wild for Giles on social media.
And he came in for high praise from Wilder afterwards.
He said (via Northern Echo): “He’s come in and he’s made his mark. Yes, it’s his position so he knows but he is a young player and the end bit is the most important bit. We had that on the right last year and we wanted to tick that box on the left.
“Ryan has come in and he wants to do well and he’s a talented footballer. I think you’ve seen today what he can produce. Whether it’s midfield players, wing-backs on the opposite side or centre forwards getting in the box. We’re a team that creates chances and Ryan creates chances. He’s a good addition to a decent group.”
A great start for Ryan Giles at Middlesbrough as Chris Wilder sings praises after three assists
It is fantastic to see Wilder already waxing lyrical about Giles.
Wolves are hoping he can have a big season in 2022/23 after recalling him midway through last term.

He’s already proven himself at Championship level, and stands to enjoy a productive campaign under a very good manager.
Perhaps this time next year, Giles will be contending for a place in the Wolves first-team squad.
