Wolves are back in Premier League action against Fulham on Saturday – and it’s another huge game for Gary O’Neil.
Wolves got their first Premier League win on the board before the international break against Southampton, which may well have saved Gary O’Neil’s job at Molineux.
But he knows he needs to follow that result up, otherwise the pressure is right back on.
Fulham away will be a big test. The Cottagers have made a very bright start to 2024/25 and manager Marco Silva has several threats at his disposal – and Wolves know two of them very well indeed.
Former Wolves attackers Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez have both been in good form this term and will need keeping quiet. Potentially, Toti Gomes could be Wolves’ most important player against Fulham given the threat of Traore.
Chris Sutton backs Wolves to survive as he makes Fulham prediction

Wolves sit 19th at the moment having taken six points from their first 11 games.
It was a very tough start for O’Neil given the fixtures and for that reason, a lot of people in the media don’t fear too much for Wolves.
Chris Sutton is one pundit who also feels that Wanderers will be OK this season. However, he doesn’t see Wolves beating Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Predicting a 2-1 home win, he told BBC Sport: “Wolves got their first win of the season when they beat Southampton before the international break. Matheus Cunha has started scoring and, when I look at their squad, I do think they are good enough to stay up.
“I am not backing them here, however. Fulham are flying and regular readers will know I am a big fan of them when they play at home.
“Emile Smith Rowe has looked really bright since joining Marco Silva’s side and I am expecting more of the same from him, plus I would not be surprised if Fulham striker Raul Jimenez had a say against his former club.”
Fellow pundit Paul Merson also thinks Wolves will lose to Fulham, predicting a 2-0 win for the Cottagers.
A tough test for Wolves
Wolves are now in their so-called ‘more favourable run of fixures’, but this game with Fulham will be tough.
They’ve looked great this season and could very easily be in the top four right now had they – and Traore specifically – been a bit more clinical at the Etihad Stadium a few weeks ago.
Silva is doing great work there and it’ll be hard to get three points down in west London.

That said, Wolves have game-changers in the form of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri and getting the ball to them will be paramount.
Cunha was magnificent against Southampton and his quality will be needed again here – and hopefully, he can deliver, and add to his five Premier League goals so far.
It’ll be so key for Wolves to defend well. Santiago Bueno is an injury doubt for Fulham which fans are worried about, so we could see the return of a back four which would be slightly concerning.
But O’Neil may have no other choice, so it’ll potentially be a big day for Toti and Craig Dawson.
