Chris Sutton goes all out with his Wolves vs Burnley prediction in crucial relegation showdown

The prospect of relegation for Wolves grows likelier each passing week; they go without a win, and Sunday’s game against Burnley is crucial – Chris Sutton has now delivered his verdict.

The Old Gold currently sit five points adrift of safety, but they can close the gap on the Clarets, who are currently in 17th, with their first win of the Premier League season.

Vitor Pereira’s future is in danger, and making it nine games without a win could spell the end of his time at the club.

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s injury is a lot better, and that will be a huge boost for the Wanderers, who need their star striker firing as quickly as possible to turn the season around.

That must start on Sunday, and former footballer Chris Sutton has given his prediction on whether Wolves can finally get a win in the Premier League.

Sunday is a must-win for Wolves, and any other result would do no good in alleviating relegation fears.

Following their clash against the Clarets, the Old Gold’s next games do not offer much more hope in terms of their chances of three points.

Over the course of November, they face Fulham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa, and you would expect Vitor Pereira’s side to be heavy underdogs heading into those games.

This makes Sunday’s clash against Burnley all the more important, and Sutton believes the Old Gold can finally get the job done, predicting a 2-0 win for the Wanderers.

In his BBC column, Sutton said, “Wolves have to win eventually, and at home to Burnley feels like the game it really has to happen for them – their fans will definitely be thinking that.

“Burnley will be eyeing victory too, though. They will take great encouragement from their win over Leeds last time out, and they could do Wolves a lot of damage if they beat them.

“All things considered, it would be easy to go for a draw, but I am going to back Wolves to break their duck.”

Encouragement from other fixtures around Wolves

There could be a bigger sense of encouragement in climbing out of the relegation zone soon based on the games around them.

Nottingham Forest face an in-form Bournemouth away from home, and if results go Wolves’ way, they could end the weekend level on points with the Tricky Trees.

Additionally, Leeds United play West Ham, with the guarantee that one or both drop points. A Wolves win and any result for Leeds could see Pereira’s side come off last place.

They won’t be able to come out of the bottom three this weekend, but there are reasons to still hold hope. However, that relies on the team getting the job completed against Burnley.

This week’s set of Premier League fixtures holds the perfect chance to close the gap and put some belief back into the club.
