Wolves are back in FA Cup action on Wednesday night against Brighton – and Chris Sutton has made his score prediction.
Wanderers recorded a 1-0 win over Sheffield United at the weekend in the Premier League to keep their good form in 2024 going.
It wasn’t a particularly great performance in the second-half, with Gary O’Neil calling for an improvement after the game, but it was a big win nevertheless.
Wednesday is a very big game, because a lot of fans would like to see Wolves have a good go in the FA Cup this season.
Relegation from the Premier League is no longer a concern for the club and so, there is a feeling that Wolves should be looking to go deep in the competition, especially since the spirits around the club are so high right now.
Chris Sutton makes score prediction for Wolves v Brighton

Wolves are facing Brighton for the third time this season, and fans are very optimistic that Gary O’Neil can mastermind a win tonight.
Brighton battered Wolves at Molineux at the start of the season, but the reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium finished 0-0, which was a sign of how far the team has come.
It’s an opponent Wolves have found tricky in recent times, but they’re well capable of winning, especially with the game being in the cup and under the lights at Molineux.
BBC pundit Chris Sutton, though, reckons the visitors will edge tonight’s contest. Predicting a 0-1 win, he said (via BBC Sport): “Wolves were not too pretty against Sheffield United but they got the win anyway. Brighton, meanwhile, scored very late to stop me being right about Everton winning that game.
“Both teams are in a situation in the league where you would hope they will go for it in the FA Cup, but I can see this game being quite cagey. I am backing Brighton, but it is going to be close.”
O’Neil should go for it
So Sutton feels Brighton will edge it, but Wolves are in a good moment right now and the players will hopefully be right up Wednesday night’s game.
Wolves have not beaten Brighton in any of the last five meetings between the two clubs, and the Seagulls have inflicted some heavy defeats in that time.
So Wolves are due a win, and it would be nice if it came here to send Wolves into the quarter-finals.
With it being a home game, it would be nice to see Wolves try and take the game to Brighton, although they are very good on the ball and the tactic may well be to counter.
The team selection will be interesting – Molineux legend Andy Thompson feels O’Neil could bring in Tommy Doyle and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde for this one, but the manager will surely go as strong as he can.
