Wolves’ season has somehow gone from bad to worse after the Old Gold’s defeat to Ipswich Town.
Molineux played host to another calamitous 90 minutes of football, seeing Wolves lose 2-1 to Ipswich in the dying embers.
Another set-piece goal was conceded in what was a dire performance from Gary O’Neil’s side, sending the Midlands club deeper into relegation trouble.
It’s now four consecutive Premier League defeats for Wolves, who sit four points from safety with little indication of showing any fight.
Gary O’Neil reacts to Rayan Ait-Nouri’s behaviour
Wolves fans aimed frustration at O’Neil after the Ipswich defeat but the Englishman wasn’t the only figure to be taunted.
Jeff Shi and Fosun were exposed to a hostile atmosphere at Molineux, and rightly so, as loyal supporters made it clear that change is needed.
Fans were let down by their club once again, with Rayan Ait-Nouri handing supporters another reason to lose faith in the Wolves squad.
At full-time, Ait-Nouri was involved in a brawl with Ipswich’s coaching staff, providing more ugly scenes after defeat.
Mario Lemina losing captaincy clearly wasn’t enough to deter the Algerian from behaving in such a way, and O’Neil was certainly left unimpressed.
“When the players step out of line, they’re heavily punished by me,” O’Neil explained to the media after the game, via Express and Star.
“I haven’t seen it, but Rayan will know how I feel about it already because getting a second yellow card and being unavailable for next week’s game can have catastrophic consequences.”
Ait-Nouri will now be suspended for the Old Gold’s clash with Leicester City, weakening the already struggling squad for the most perplexing reason.
Wolves squad are showing no fight
As mentioned, there was a change in captaincy after Wolves’ defeat to West Ham as Lemina was involved in a brawl at full-time at the London Stadium.
After seeing the consequences of the Gabon international’s behaviour, it was assumed that the squad would act in a more composed manner going forward.

This wasn’t the case and it only shows how poor the squad are at present, both on the pitch and at managing their emotion.
Matheus Cunha could also face punishment for getting involved in the full-time antics against Ipswich, as O’Neil’s side continues to crumble week by week.
The main concern is how the table looks heading into the festive period, with Wolves sitting four points from safety and comfortably in 19th place.
