Wolves have made improvements recently – and that has resulted in a recall to the Brazil squad for both Andre and Joao Gomes.
It is just one point from the first six Premier League games for Wolves, setting up a season of potential struggle.
Sadly, a lot of players who were here last season have not been able to reach their best level yet, but the hope is that they will improve as the fixture list now relents.
Two players who have fallen into this category are Andre and Joao Gomes.
The midfield duo are arguably Wolves’ best players, but amid the collective struggles of the team, they have not quite performed as we know they can so far this term.
However, they’ve both done a lot better in Wolves’ last two matches against Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
And positively for them, they have both now earned recalls into the Brazil squad – and yesterday manager Carlo Ancelotti gave a brief word about them.
Carlos Ancelotti shares why he’s called up Andre and Joao Gomes for Brazil

Brazil’s latest squad was shared yesterday, ahead of the upcoming friendlies with South Korea and Japan on the 10th and 14th of October.
The inclusions of Andre and Gomes from Wolves were notable, because it is the first time they’ve made the squad since Ancelotti came aboard in May.
Ancelotti overlooked Gomes and Andre for his first two squads in June and September, which would have been hugely disappointing for them.
But they’re now back in the picture, and Ancelotti has revealed he wants to get to know the pair better, praising their level in Premier League of late.
He said, as quoted by Globo: “João Gomes who I don’t know on a personal level, like André. I want to know, because in this position I believe we will have a lot of options for the World Cup.
“I would also like to meet these two players, who are doing very well in the Premier League.”
A boost for Andre, Joao Gomes and Wolves
It’s great to see Andre and Gomes back in the picture for Brazil.
It was understandable they missed out last time as neither player was in particularly good form. But they’ve picked up a bit now, and this will be a good chance for them to make an impression on Ancelotti.

Surely, this will provide both players with a confidence boost, which can only be good news for Wolves.
It is absolutely crucial that Wolves have both of their Brazilians at the top of their game.
A relegation battle seems nailed on this season, but having Andre and Gomes performing consistently will give Pereira every chance of navigating Wolves away from danger.
