Wolves have officially appointed Neil Cutler as their new goalkeeping coach, following the departure of Tony Roberts.
The 46-year-old has already started working with the squad, and brings a wealth of experience after spending four years at Aston Villa.
Last month, Wolves confirmed the exit of Roberts, who has taken up a new coaching role at a European club.
Roberts was a big character at Wolves.
He was loved by not just the goalkeepers’ union, but the whole squad.
So there are big gloves to fill at Compton Park – but the club might just have brought in an excellent replacement.
Neil Cutler has been hailed by Emi Martinez
Cutler spending four years at Villa Park meant that he worked closely with Emi Martinez.

The former Wolves loanee is considered one of the best ‘keepers in the Premier League, and has performed very well since leaving Arsenal.
At the time of Cutler’s departure from Villa, World Cup winner Martinez let his social media following know exactly what he thought of him.
He said (Shropshire Star): “I can’t thank you enough for the way you helped me since day one.
“Not just a gk coach to me you became my friend, unfortunately football isn’t fair sometimes. Best English coach by miles.”
A seemingly very good appointment by Wolves, good news for Jose Sa
This verdict from Martinez is pretty encouraging.
Cutler is clearly a high quality coach and that is exactly what Wolves need following Roberts’ exit.
Wolves fans will now hope that Cutler will work his magic on Jose Sa.
The £7 million signing will be delighted to have some of the calibre of Cutler.

Sa struggled last season as he tried to live up to the standards he set in his debut campaign at Molineux.
But he fell quite a way short, and he needs to turn things around in 2023/24.
Hopefully, Cutler will be able to bring out the very best in him, and also Dan Bentley and Tom King.
