Bruno Lage has said he wants his Wolves side to press higher, and seemingly sent a subtle transfer message to Fosun.

The manager is doing a decent job but just lately, Wolves have struggled to pick up points.

Irish Guy PREDICTS GW16 Premier League Results

It is now four games without a win in the Premier League.

Few people really expected anything from the Liverpool and Manchester City games.

But the draws with Norwich City and Burnley were disappointing.

Hopefully, the team can get back to winning ways against Brighton on Wednesday. The Seagulls have a number of players unavailable, so it’s a chance for Wolves – if the game goes ahead.

One good thing about Wolves this season has been the defensive solidity.

Only three teams have conceded fewer goals in the Premier League.

But Lage believes there is room for improvement which can actually help the team to attack better.

He told The Athletic: “We need to improve some of the things in our offensive game: the way we start from the back, for Jose Sa’s decisions, for defender’s decisions, the midfielders and strikers, how they press… these are things I want to work on.”

Lage also seemingly sent a subtle message to Fosun.

“I want my team to press a little higher,” Lage added. “We need to have fast defenders to do that but the speed is not as important as if you do the right pressure at the right time.”

Fosun know what Bruno Lage wants after possible Wolves transfer hint

So Lage is keen to get the team pressing higher. But he recognises that, to achieve this, he needs people who aren’t going to get exposed.

Pressing higher is risky as it can leave big spaces in behind the defence.

It makes sense that Lage would want fast defenders as they are more likely to get back in and snuff out any danger.

Lage has constantly spoken about getting the right players in for the way he wants to play.

The onus is now on Fosun to hand him the correct tools to work. Failure to do is sending him forward with a hand tied behind his back.
