Bruno Lage 'very happy' with Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri

Bruno Lage has said he is ‘very happy’ with Rayan Ait-Nouri and the way he has been developing at Wolves.

The French wing-back has made a huge impression since coming into the starting XI a couple of months ago.

Ait-Nouri had to be patient, with Fernando Marcal starting the first eight Premier League games.

But when the Brazilian got injured, Ait-Nouri was handed his chance against Leeds United.

A lively showing against the Whites would be the first of many for Ait-Nouri.

Ait-Nouri has just shone against heavyweights Liverpool and Manchester City, cementing his status as a player with the potential to become special.

He looks much more well-rounded compared to last season when he was on loan.

Defensively he has come on leaps and bounds, and Lage is delighted with how the 20-year-old is faring.

He said yesterday (quoted by The Mirror’s Alex Richards): “We are very happy with him. It was very impressive the way he plays, especially the last two matches for a kid against Salah and Sterling. He is very young and I hope we can help him to have a good career with us.”

Richards then tweeted that Lage and his staff have been working ‘extensively’ on Ait-Nouri’s defending, and feel he has been making big improvements.

Wolves fans should be hugely excited about Ait-Nouri amid Bruno Lage praise

Ait-Nouri’s performances have been really encouraging so far this season.

Lage and his team have been working with the £10 million player on his defending, and it is really showing.

That was one of the things people questioned him about last season, but he appears to have been working very hard behind the scenes to improve.

It is exciting to think how good he could become.

If he just keeps working hard and learning every day, then there is no reason why he can’t become one of the top full-backs/wing-backs later on in his career.
