Bruno Lage praises Jose Sa after another fine display for Wolves

Bruno Lage has lavished praise on Jose Sa, after another fine performance from the goalkeeper for Wolves.

The star was once again on top form, making several key saves at Carrow Road.

The 28-year-old was on hand to deny the likes of Max Aarons and Teemu Pukki, and spare Wolves’ blushes.

In the end, Lage’s side were probably thankful to come away with a point.

Sa recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season with the 0-0, and he is slowly starting to gain recognition from other fanbases.

He is already hugely popular with many Wolves fans.

And Lage is also delighted with how the summer signing has been performing since he came in.

He said of his number one: “He stopped two or three situations. When we lost the ball in a bad moment sometimes we ran from our final third to our box and Jose did well. We spoke about him before the game and I’m not surprised with what he’s doing.

“He came with a big responsibility to replace a goalkeeper like Patricio, but I trust him.

“I’ve known him since he didn’t have a beard and was a baby face at 16 or 17, and now he’s a big man and can be a top goalkeeper.”

Sa’s recent displays have seen him become nominated for Wolves’ November Player of the Month award.

Jose Sa has been a magnificent signing for Wolves

Few would have envisaged Sa having this good a start to his Molineux career.

We were told good things about him at the time of his arrival. But he really has been outstanding.

He’s undoubtedly been up there with the top-performing goalkeepers this season.

He has only conceded 12 goals so far, three of which have been penalties.

It is no wonder Lage has heaped praise on him, and long may this high level continue.
