Bruno Lage posted on Instagram last night, after his Wolves side secured a famous win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

A Joao Moutinho goal in the 82nd minute proved to be the difference between the two sides.

It was a fantastic display from Wolves, who were up and at United from the first minute.

They had 15 shots at goal in the first-half alone, which was a huge statement of intent.

Some fans have been frustrated at Wolves’ approach in certain games this season.

But here, it was clear Wolves were ready to try and score some goals and win the game.

And that’s what they did, as they exacted revenge on the Red Devils after they stole all three points in the reverse fixture back in August.

It is Wolves’ first victory at Old Trafford in over 40 years, and the perfect way to start 2022.

After the final whistle blew, the camera panned straight to Bruno Lage in the technical area.

The 45-year-old was clearly delighted with the performance and result, and waved and blew a kiss to the camera.

Lage took to Instagram afterwards to explain.

He said: “My professional life took a turn exactly three years ago.

“Today, as I entered Old Trafford and saw all that red, I had a feeling it was going to be a good day… and so it was!

“Great performance, 3 points, yet another clean sheet.

“At the end, a blown kiss for my lovely wife, my children, my family… and all those supporting us throughout the years.”

Result meant a lot to Bruno Lage judging by Instagram post

It is quite rare to see managers actually acknowledge the camera.

Clearly Lage was buzzing with his team’s display and to come away with three points in the first game of 2022.

Three years ago yesterday was the day Lage took over at Benfica as caretaker manager – his first big gig.

He’s come along way since then, and he is showing huge potential at Molineux early doors.

Who knows where he could take the team with a bit of backing from Fosun.
