Bruno Lage gives update on injured Wolves star Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto will not feature for Wolves in tomorrow night’s Premier League game with Leeds United.

The winger recently picked up a foot injury which ruled him out of the win over Everton at the weekend.

The 22-year-old’s issue isn’t too serious though.

Bruno Lage has said in his press conference that he hopes the ace will return after the international break (via Tim Spiers).

Wolves’ first game back after said break is against Aston Villa at Molineux on April 2.

Neto, of course, only recently returned to action for Wolves after being out of action since April 2021 after suffering a broken patella.

The youngster got his first minutes of the season against Leicester City last month, coming off the bench to make a 10-minute cameo.

His first start would soon follow against Crystal Palace.

The setback with his foot will be frustrating for Neto having only just returned.

And ditto for Wolves fans, who had really missed signing the talented livewire tearing down the wings at Molineux.

Thankfully though, he won’t be out of action for too long.

Ki-Jana Hoever and Nelson Semedo are both still out as expected. But Hwang Hee-chan could be available, as Lage didn’t mention him when talking about absentees.

Blow for Wolves as Neto ruled out of Leeds, but Lage has other options

For tomorrow night’s game against Leeds, Lage will likely go with Daniel Podence and Raul Jimenez. But the manager must then decide if they play as a two or if they are accompanied by Francisco Trincao or Chiquinho.

Lage has not been shy using a three-man midfield this term if needed.

It could be that Leander Dendoncker comes in to play with Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.

£16 million man Neto being unavailable tomorrow isn’t the best news, but he is obviously still finding his way back to form and it wasn’t like he was ripping teams apart after his return.

Hopefully, whoever plays tomorrow night in attack will deliver.
