Wolves face Aston Villa today in the first Midlands derby of the Premier League season so far.
Another Midlands face-off took place in the Championship last night, when West Brom hosted Birmingham.
Wolves loanees Matija Sarkic and Dion Sanderson started for the Blues, who went down 1-0 at the Hawthorns.

Despite the eventual Birmingham defeat, goalkeeper Sarkic caught the eye with some impressive saves.
Perhaps the best was a stop from a Kyle Bartley header as the 24-year-old put in a strong display in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
After the game, Blues boss Lee Bowyer had some praise for central defender Sanderson.
He told the club’s official website: “I thought we looked solid. Dion [Sanderson] and George [Friend] both performed really well.
“The youth and pace [of Sanderson], with Robbo in control of the backline. We limited them to very little and mostly from distance. I thought we did well.”

Reaction to Sarkic display
It was Sarkic’s performance which had plenty of Birmingham fans talking on Twitter.
There was a lot of praise for the goalkeeper who is getting a chance to show what he can do in the second tier this term:
- Carlos Forbs makes upsetting admission about his loan season at Wolves
- Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri are not the only past mavericks Wolves are missing
- Wolves and Liverpool interested in Portuguese defender who could leave for cut-price fee
- Tim Sherwood claims there’s one Premier League team worse than Wolves this season
- Wolves’ biggest regret of the summer stuck warming Premier League club’s bench
