Wolves loanee Fabio Silva is making a name for himself in Scotland, as he continues to show his worth for Rangers following his move away from Molineux.
In January, Wolves sanctioned a loan deal to allow Fabio Silva to join Rangers for the remainder of the season after failing to make the cut in Gary O’Neil’s attack.
The 21-year-old secured eight appearances for the Old Gold in the 2023/24 Premier League before joining Rangers as he slipped down the pecking order behind the likes of Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan.
Despite things not working out at Molineux, Silva is making waves in Scotland, having already netted twice for Philippe Clement’s side to earn high praise from those around him.
Clement made the Portuguese dynamo his first signing of 2024 in charge at Ibrox, lauding the Wolves outsider as a “highly-rated striker” to add to the Scottish Premiership side’s front line.

There was a host of speculation surrounding the future of Silva in the Midlands during the transfer window, after he spent the 2022/23 calendar away from England, representing Anderlecht in the first half of the campaign and PSV in the second half.
Following his move to Rangers, Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs explained the decision to loan the forward, who was signed from Porto for a fee of £35.6m in 2020.
“He’s not getting enough opportunities here, so it’s a chance to go out and score goals and we’ll look at the future in the summer.”
Rangers fans will be savouring the moments that they have with Silva, who has won the approval of the supporters who have shared their opinions on the Wolves loanee on social media.
What Rangers fans have said about Fabio Silva
Speaking after Rangers’ victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, one fan said, “How good was Fabio Silva when he came on btw? Absolutely a level above this league on early reflection.”
Another fan followed by saying, “Fabio Silva was magnificent. Pay the £30M.”
It’s clear to see that the 21-year-old has made a strong first impression at Ibrox, with one fan saying, “really like Fabio Silva already” and another responding, “doesn’t stop, brilliant energy.”
While it’s good to see that the youngster is getting the praise he deserves at Rangers, it’s frustrating that his parent club have been starved of seeing his best form so far during his time at Molineux.
Having only netted five goals for the first team since arriving in 2020, Silva’s price tag has been questioned frequently, although Rangers fans seem to think that the Old Gold acquired a bargain from Porto.
“Starting to think Wolves got a bargain for Fabio Silva. £35m is a snip. Best player in the league by a mile. Make the most of him while he’s here.”
Sticking to the theme of his price tag, another fan admitted that some would have expected Silva to arrive with an arrogance to his game after stepping away from the Premier League side, a narrative that one fan believes the striker has snubbed.
“No one will be worried about that now. Attitude, effort and commitment- top-notch. He could be massive for us.”
The priority for Wolves is that Silva continues to perform at such levels throughout the remainder of his loan, with the summer of 2024 set to be pivotal to his future at Molineux.
