Europe got the better of Team USA in the Ryder Cup this past weekend, and Harry Kane was asked to build a team of players who know their way around a golf course.
Harry Kane is inarguably the most in-form player in Europe right now. He has thrived in Munich since leaving the Premier League in 2023.
He’s also an avid golf player, and was asked for a team of footballers he would take to the Ryder Cup.
His 12-man roster includes names like Gareth Bale, Declan Rice and Harry Maguire, as well as a Wolves defender who he thinks would be a valuable asset on the course.

Harry Kane picks Matt Doherty for his Ryder Cup dream team
Ireland has some of the most beautiful and challenging courses of anywhere in the world, and Wolves veteran Matt Doherty is clearly seen by Kane as a solid player.
Making his selections on TikTok, Kane has Doherty as his fourth pick.
The two played together at Spurs, and the Irishman has named Kane as the best he’s ever played with.
Doherty has spent most of his career at Wolves, but he did take a three-year hiatus from Molineux, instead plying his trade in North London while Kane was at the peak of his powers in the Premier League.
The two must have spent some amount of time together on the golf course, and Kane isn’t forgetting about him.
Doherty’s spell at Spurs was underwhelming
The current Wolves man moved to Spurs aged 28, his prime years.
While in North London, he was mainly a rotation piece and never got the same role he had grown used to at Molineux.

His return to Wolves coincided with Kane’s switch to the Bundesliga, and Doherty has been a crucial part of the dressing room since coming back. He’s a veteran at the club who was there during the Championship days and played an important role in the back-to-back 7th-place finishes.
But Doherty’s role has changed as he has gotten older, and since the arrival of Vitor Pereira.
He isn’t the high-flying wing-back we used to see, but he has done a very respectable job filling in in the back-three when needed.
A proper professional, and apparently, a decent golfer too.
