Aston Villa loan star Axel Tuanzebe reacts to Connor Ronan goal

Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Connor Ronan scored a stunning goal out on loan for St Mirren this weekend.

The midfielder struck against reigning Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.

It was his third goal of the campaign, and it’s likely he won’t score a better one.

Ronan collected the ball around 30 yards from goal and unleashed a powerful drive that gave Gers stopper Jon McLaughlin absolutely no chance.

Such was the power and accuracy of the strike, it’s possible even two goalkeepers wouldn’t have saved it.

It was a great moment for the 23-year-old, who also came in for a bit of praise from Steven Gerrard after the game.

The Liverpool legend accepted the quality of his strike, and also said that Ronan ‘played well throughout’.

The clip of Ronan’s goal has been shared far and wide on social media and rightly so, and one man who enjoyed it was Aston Villa’s Axel Tuanzebe.

The centre-back, currently on loan at Villa Park from Manchester United, shared the clip to his Instagram Story along with the caption ‘CR7’.

Cristiano Ronaldo has, of course, scored all types of goals throughout his career, but in the earlier days he did carve out a reputation as being a brilliant long-shot taker.

It is a nice reaction from Tuanzebe, who clearly appreciates such a clean strike.

For those thinking it’s bit random him reacting to the goal on his Instagram Story, Tuanzebe and Ronan actually both attended St. Cuthbert’s High School in Rochdale as kids (via MEN).

The pair were in the same year, and won the English National Schools Cup all the way back in 2009.
