Wolves last night lost their opening Premier League game of 2023/24 to Manchester United 1-0.
Wanderers put in a fantastic performance at Old Trafford and were seriously unlucky to lose the game.
Wanderers created lots of chances, which was quite a surprise given how Julen Lopetegui left the club last week.
Many thought that Wolves would rock up and sit back under Gary O’Neil.
But Wolves were brave on the ball, and some of the ball carrying at times was sensational.
The performance just lacked a goal, which has been the issue for Wolves for a long time now.

But Wolves could have had a chance to score from the penalty spot right at the death after Andre Onana clattered Sasa Kalajdzic.
But a spot-kick was somehow not given.
After the game a sheepish Rio Ferdinand reacted to the game.
Rio Ferdinand reacts to Manchester United 1-0 Wolves
After the game, former United defender Rio Ferdinand’s reaction said it all.
He said on Twitter: “Apologies to Wolves players & fans… Scrappy @ManUtd win! Onana v lucky at the end there. 3 points and back to the training pitch this evening pls. Premier League is back.”
Ahead of kick-off, Ferdinand had talked up a possible ‘demolition job’ at Old Trafford.
The Onana incident was a huge talking point.
The Cameroon international – making his competitive debut – was absolutely nowhere near the ball when he collided with Kalajdzic at the end.
It is incredible to think that a spot-kick was not given, and even more disgraceful that VAR upheld the decision.
Ferdinand reaction is telling
Ferdinand is clearly embarrassed by the nature of United’s win last night.
And his opinion will likely be shared by many United fans.
They were really poor and just didn’t deserve to win the game at all.

Having said that, Wolves were bad in the final third again last night.
It is great to see Wolves creating so many chances in a game. But they need putting away. By finding that finishing touch, Wolves would then not need to worry about these shocking decisions going against them.
