Another win against Man Utd and Vitor Pereira will do something Wolves haven’t managed for 45 years

Wolves are on a four-game winning run and hope to continue the impressive streak when they travel to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Wolves’ recent 4-2 win over Spurs saw the side win four consecutive Premier League games for the first time ever.

Next up is an away game against Ruben Amorim’s struggling Red Devils.

Wolves can do something for first time since 1979-80 when they play Manchester United

A fifth win would see the Old Gold go level on 38 points with Manchester United.

In fact, Vitor Pereira has the chance to do something no Wolves manager has done since the 1979-80 season.

Wolves’ 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester United in December has put them in a great position to do the league-double over the 20-time champions of England for the first time in 45 years.

The last time the Old Gold beat the Red Devils home and away saw the side win 3-1 at Molineux in September 1979 and win 0-1 at Old Trafford the following February.

Sign of the times

Although Wolves have had miserable spells at times this campaign, United’s season has been worse.

Had Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton not all been so poor, the Red Devils would be legit relegation contenders.

While Wolves haven’t had much to shout about, Pereira’s recent turnaround has offered a lot of hope for the future.

The same cannot be said for Amorim and the Red Devils, though.
