Nuno Espirito Santo was recently sacked by Nottingham Forest – and now another former Wolves manager has lost his job.
There was big news recently when Forest and Nuno parted ways.
It had been known that Nuno’s relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had deteriorated and on September 9, word arrived of his sacking.

Forest moved quickly, hiring Ange Postecoglou as his replacement. And Nuno has already been linked with the West Ham United job, amid increasing pressure on Graham Potter.
Wolves fans expressed sympathy for Nuno, who had done a terrific job at the City Ground.
Now, less than two weeks later, another former Wolves manager is about to get the chop after an embarrassing result.
Former Wolves boss Bruno Lage sacked by Benfica

Bruno Lage has now been officially sacked at Benfica.
The decision has been made, after Benfica embarrassingly lost against Qarabag in the Champions League last night.
The Portuguese giants had been 2-0 up after 16 minutes, but ended up losing 3-2 to the Azerbaijani minnows.
Late last night, Benfica’s president Rui Costa called a press conference and informed fans of the sacking decision.
It brings to an end a second stint at the club for Lage, who had rejoined the club in September 2024 after a brief stint at Botafogo.
Lage had come into the new season under pressure, having narrowly failed to win a trophy in 2024/25.
Benfica could now appoint Jose Mourinho

Benfica intend to have a new manager in place by the weekend for their game against AVS Futebol.
And it is now being widely reported that Benfica are in advanced talks with Jose Mourinho to succeed Lage.
Mourinho has not long been out of work, getting sacked by Fenerbahce ironically after a defeat against Benfica in a Champions League play-off.
Some bookmakers had recently tipped Wolves to be Mourinho’s next club, with the club having started the new season with four defeats in the Premier League.
But Molineux officials retain faith in Vitor Pereira to turn things around at Wolves, and hopefully the Portuguese will soon build some momentum.
