Andoni Iraola names the Wolves player he’s been impressed with ahead of Bournemouth clash

Wolves travel to Bournemouth this weekend for their second game of the Premier League season, and manager Andoni Iraola has revealed which player he sees as a threat.

In his pre-match press conference, Iraola was asked if there was anyone in the Wolves squad he was paying particular attention to.

Without hesitation, he named someone who gave him a lot of problems last season.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is the Wolves player Andoni Iraola sees as a threat

Jorgen Strand Larsen scored twice against Iraola’s side last season in a 4-2 Bournemouth win, and the Norwegian has clearly left an impression on him.

Strand Larsen has been entwined in transfer speculation as Newcastle make their interest known, but Vitor Pereira says he is committed to Wolves and is training hard.

Wolves aren’t the most attacking side as it stands, but if Strand Larsen were to leave, toothless is the word that springs to mind.

Regardless, he will be ready to play tomorrow and prove Iraola right.

Bournemouth’s weakened defence provides an opportunity for Strand Larsen and Wolves

Bournemouth have had it rough this summer.

Their starting left-back, both centre-backs and goalkeeper have all been sold, making their defence completely different to the one they enjoyed so much success with last season.

The new-look backline is relatively untested, and there’s an opportunity for Wolves to score some goals.

Pereira needs to deploy an attacking starting XI and go for the jugular from the outset.

Another scoreless defeat could be terrible for the mood around Molineux, and maybe even nudge Strand Larsen towards the door.
