All nine Wolves loan players for the 2024/25 campaign

A rundown of the nine Wolves players who have been sent out on loan for the 2024/25 campaign and which clubs they will play for.

It was a busy summer transfer window for Wolves. Multiple players came and went from Molineux as Gary O’Neil shaped his squad for the current campaign.

Many of those who departed were on loan, with members of the Old Gold squad flying out around the globe to get valuable game time.

For each of the nine players, they will spend the entire 2024/25 campaign at their respective clubs with Molineux News listing each one below.

Hugo Bueno – On loan at Feyenoord

While Hugo Bueno was seen as a first-team member of the Wolves squad last season, the wing-back struggled for minutes as Rayan Ait-Nouri hit form.

As a result, over the summer, there was plenty of speculation surrounding the future of the Spaniard.

Celtic were believed to be interested in Bueno, however, it was Dutch giants Feyenoord who would eventually secure the loan move.

The full-back made his debut before the international break and could play in the Champions League this season.

Joe Hodge – On loan at Huddersfield Town

The Wolves midfielder has had few opportunities in the first team since he made his debut in the 2022/23 campaign.

The Republic of Ireland Under 21 captain was subsequently sent out on loan to QPR in January where he helped the capital club stay in the division.

This season, Joe Hodge has been loaned out again, this time to League One side Huddersfield.

On his debut, the midfielder came off the bench to score as the Terriers lost 2-1 to Rotherham.

Fabio Silva – On loan at Las Palmas

Wolves’ former record signing has found himself out on loan yet again in his Old Gold career.

Fabio Silva was given a chance to be on the first team last season after successful spells at both Anderlecht and PSV. The striker was even given the number nine shirt.

However, after failing to score a Premier League goal, he was sent to Rangers for the latter half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Despite Wolves attempting to sell Silva permanently in the summer, the Old Gold eventually had to settle for a loan deal with La Liga side Las Palmas.

Wolves’ upcoming star has been sent out on loan again for this campaign.

The Welshman made his Old Gold debut in the 2019/20 season and has since been loaned out to Wycombe Wanderers twice and Charlton Atheltic.

For this campaign, Chem Campbell is at League One side Reading, with the 21-year-old aiming to impress.

Chiquinho – On loan at Mallorca

The Portuguese winger made a deadline-day move to Mallorca on loan.

Since his injury, Chiquinho has struggled to break into the Wolves’ first team and was sent out on loan to Stoke City and Famalicão last season.

At the latter club, he did well and Sporting CP were interested in signing Chiquinho permanently in the summer.

However, Wolves managed to keep hold of the 24-year-old, and he has now been sent to La Liga to continue his development.

Tawanda Chirewa – On loan at Derby County

One of Wolves’ most recent debutants, Tawanda Chirewa was given multiple first-team opportunities last season under O’Neil.

The Zimbabwe international played 10 times in all competitions, as the midfielder showed that he had plenty of potential.

In the search for more regular first-team football, Chirewa has been loaned out to recently promoted Derby County in the Championship where he made his debut in the Carabao Cup.

Nathan Fraser – On loan at Zulte Waregem

Wolves’ current golden boy, Nathan Fraser certainly made a name for himself last season.

The striker netted on his debut in a 5-0 victory over Blackpool in the Carabao Cup. In January, he then netted a vital against Brentford in the FA Cup to take the Old Gold to extra time.

However, in the Premier League, he had less luck and was unable to find the net in his few appearances.

With Jorgen Strand Larsen entering the club in the summer, Wolves opted to send Fraser to Belgian side Zulte Waregem and has since made two appearances.

Nigel Lonwijk – On loan at Huddersfield Town

Joining Hodge at Huddersfield is defender Nigel Lonwijk. The Dutchman was at Wycombe Wanderers in the latter half of the previous campaign.

During this spell, Lonwijk scored an incredible overhead kick against Reading.

Now, the defender has returned to League One as he hopes to send Huddersfield back into the second tier at the first attempt.

Ki-Jana Hoever – On loan at AJ Auxerre

The final player on this list is current outcast Ki-Jana Hoever. The full-back spent 18 months at Stoke City during the 2022/23 and the 2023/24 campaigns where he did well.

However, there is still no clear way back into the first team for the Dutchman as Pedro Lima now enters the club.

As a result, Hoever has now been sent to French side Auxerre as his future at Wolves remains up in the air.
