Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer suggested last night that Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone should have been shown a red card for his challenge on Pedro Neto.
Wolves recorded a huge win over the Eagles to take a huge step towards Premier League safety.

An own goal from Joachim Andersen and a late Ruben Neves penalty gave Wolves the win and an eight-point cushion in the league table.
It was nine, but Nottingham Forest’s win over Brighton last night means the gap is now eight points.
It was not a top performance from Wolves like against Chelsea and Brentford.
But it was good enough, and the defending was solid meaning Wolves were able to get over the line.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Wolves game without a controversial decision.
The challenge from Johnstone at the end on Neto for the penalty has come under the microscope since the game, with many saying he should have been sent off.
Johnstone left the ground with both feet, and while he did get a nick on the ball, he caught Neto high on the follow through.

It is the kind of challenge officials have been clamping down on in recent times. But for some reason it was not punished appropriately here.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer said: “Sam Johnstone here on Neto, I think he was really fortunate. I know it was the 94th minute and they get the pen, but it could have been a red card.”
It is just the latest in a string of poor decisions to have gone against Wolves since Julen Lopetegui arrived at the club.
Thankfully, as against Brentford (Toti Gomes taken down by David Raya and not given a penalty), this one didn’t prove costly.
Another bad decision in a Wolves game to the surprise of absolutely nobody
It may not have mattered that Johnstone wasn’t sent off for Palace given how late it happened in the game.
But this was yet another wrong decision.
Johnstone’s challenge was dangerous. This type of challenge has been receiving red cards for a while now, so why was no red card shown in this instance?

It will do little to convince some supporters that officials are not against Wolves this season.
It was good that Shearer – who also raved over Ruben Neves – highlighted the actual challenge in his analysis of the game on Match of the Day.
There was a chance it could have just been skipped over. It is very important to keep highlighting mistakes, no matter how insignificant they feel.
