Alan Shearer will be keeping an eye on Wolves this weekend as he has had his go at predicting the outcome
A win would be a massive step and a huge result in the relegation fight, and it would signal to rivals that Wolves are not down and out yet.
The blow of Marc Guehi and Eddie Nketiah being passed fit for Crystal Palace will make Saturday’s fixture all the more difficult, but the Eagles have quality all over the pitch anyway.
Rob Edwards has three injuries of his own to deal with, but that will not faze him ahead of the fixture.
However, Alan Shearer has made quite the brutal comment about the new Wolves head coach and his choice to return to Molineux.
Wolves fans, how do you see Rob Edwards getting on in his first game against Crystal Palace?
Alan Shearer predicts the result in Wolves vs Crystal Palace
Rob Edwards’ return to Wolves turned quite a few heads.
The decision to swap a Championship side that seemed destined for promotion for a struggling Premier League team that looked almost certainly like they were going down did not go over well with some people in the football world.
Simon Jordan was the most perturbed, with the former Palace owner going on two separate Rob Edwards rants.
Now, Shearer (via Metro) has joined in and also delivered a brutal claim about Edwards while delivering his prediction for the weekend.
“I think we’ll see something from Wolves. Whether we’ll see enough is a bigger question. I understand why Rob Edwards wanted to go back given his ties with the club, but it’s a huge gamble from him with the position Boro are in.
“I don’t see it being a good start for him. Wolves may already be planning to go down, to then come back up again. As tough as that would be, I’ll go for an away win.”
Head to head: Wolves and Crystal Palace
It may be a gamble for Edwards, but it is one he is willing to take, as the Molineux head coach position is his dream job.
He loves Wolves, and he will want to keep them in the Premier League this season, and that work must begin with a strong performance against the Eagles.

Wolves must show they have a different mentality under Rob Edwards
Result aside, the key takeaway from Saturday’s game will be how Wolves approach the match and how they look doing it.
The Old Gold are fighting for survival, and the performance on the weekend needs to show that the players are up for that fight.
A much-improved showing of intensity and desire on the pitch will be the bare minimum fans will demand.
Too often this season they have felt the Wanderers were heading into a game already 1-0 down due to a lack of fire in the squad.
